Get NomiPad

Version 0.1.8. Free, no account, no sign-up.

Installing on a Mac

  1. Open the downloaded .dmg.
  2. Drag NomiPad into Applications.
  3. Open it from Applications or Spotlight. The app is signed and notarized by Apple, so macOS opens it without warnings.

One download for both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. NomiPad opens .txt, .md and common code files, and anything else you drag onto it.

Installing on Windows

  1. Run the downloaded -setup.exe. It installs for your user only, no administrator rights needed.
  2. The installer isn’t code-signed yet, so Windows may show “Windows protected your PC”. Click More info, then Run anyway.
  3. Open NomiPad from the Start menu. It updates itself when a new version comes out.

The .msi is the same app for installing on every account of a machine (IT deployment). NomiPad needs Microsoft Edge WebView2, which Windows 10 and 11 already include; the installer adds it if it’s missing.

Installing on Linux

  1. AppImage (any distribution): chmod +x NomiPad_*.AppImage, then run it. It updates itself.
  2. Debian / Ubuntu: sudo apt install ./NomiPad_*.deb.
  3. Fedora / openSUSE: sudo dnf install ./NomiPad-*.rpm.

Needs glibc 2.35+ (Ubuntu 22.04 or newer) and WebKitGTK 4.1. Export to PDF and PNG isn’t available on Linux yet; HTML export works. All three formats offer updates when a new version comes out (installing a .deb or .rpm update asks for your password).
